Lotic, Rabit, Priests, Breadwoman and More Announced for 2016 Pitchfork Showcase
Today, Pitchfork Media announced the stacked lineup for their annual Northside Festival showcase, happening at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on Saturday, June 11. This year’s show will feature a wild, all-night roster of experimental artists, headlined by brash, futuristic electronic producers Lotic (Berlin) and Rabit (Houston, TX). They’ll be joined by D.C. punk favorites Priests, deranged Arizona industrial act Marshstepper, the return of Anna Homler and Steven Warwick’s mesmeric 1980s performance art project Breadwoman, Merchandise guitarist David Vassalotti, and Kiev-based noise band Bichkraft, who’ll be playing in the U.S. for the very first time.
The 2016 showcase marks the fifth consecutive collaboration between the massively influential music site and the Northside Festival at beloved Greenpoint metal hub, Saint Vitus. Previous years have showcased legends, rising stars and unique voices from all over the musical spectrum (highlights include—Deafheaven, The Julie Ruin, Frankie Cosmos, Perfect Pussy, Prurient, Majical Cloudz, Iceage, Mitski, Pharmakon, and Kim Gordon’s Body/Head). This year’s show upholds that tradition, presenting a night of music that’s fiercely eclectic and totally epic.
