Over 80 Artists Added to Music Lineup

Here comes the second wave of performers joining our lineup!

We couldn’t be happier to announce the 80+ artists, pulled from a wide spread of genres, joining the already heavy-hitting roster of talent to be showcased during the fest. Get excited for:

  • The Nashville boys of Diarrhea Planet, set to ignite Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday, June 9 with openers Sweet Crude.
  • Experimental vibes at Saint Vitus on Saturday, June 11 for our annual Pitchfork showcase featuring: Lotic, Rabit, Priests, Marshstepper, Breadwoman, David Vassalotti and Bichkraft (hailing from Ukraine, making their U.S. debut at Northside).
  • Grouper at National Sawdust on Saturday, June 11, being an overachiever and playing an early show (7pm) and late show (10pm) as her first proper NYC performances since 2013.
  • Psych-rock outfit Psychic Ills’ album release show—their first in three years—at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday, June 11 with opener Weyes Blood and more TBA.
  • A one-night-only cover show on Saturday, June 11 at Rough Trade with Frankie Cosmos performing songs from Liz Phair’s Exile in Guyville and Ava Luna taking on Serge Gainsbourg’s Histoire de Melody Nelson as a nod to the long-running 33 1/3 book series.
  • Oddisee & Good Compny bringing those melodic hip-hop beats to Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, June 12 with Lushlife + CSLSX.
  • Gang of Youths, who are Brooklyn-bound all the way from Australia, to perform at Knitting Factory on June 12.

Additional showcases—including loads of stellar local talent—include expertly curated bills from: AdHoc, Buzz Records & Hive Mind PR, Cypher League, Desert Island Comics & Famous Swords, Dull Tools, Exploding in Sound Records, GODMODE, Grrl Power Hour Radio & Homoground, Monofonus Press, Noisey, Stones Throw Records, Tom Tom Magazine, Wharf Cat Records and many, many more.

All of that good stuff comes in addition to the tons of previously announced acts. Allow us to refresh your memory? A free show with Wolf Parade on June 9, a co-headlining bill with Kacey Musgraves and Conor Oberst on June 11, and Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds in its entirety, plus other fan favorites, on June 12 —all of which will take place at McCarren Park and benefit the Open Space Alliance For North Brooklyn (OSA), a nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger North Brooklyn by improving 45 parks and playgrounds and getting neighbors involved in their parks.
