CHVRCHES Play Free Show at McCarren Park… Did We Mention It’s Free? That Wasn’t a Joke.

At the heart of Northside is the McCarren Park stage, home of two free shows giving us the chance to hang out with neighbors and friends while the sun sets on Brooklyn, like a scene lifted from the most envy-worthy Instagram feeds. Who better to rally us together than CHVRCHES, Scotland’s finest export and newly reigning synth-pop sirens. On Sunday, June 15, the band brings its mix of dance, indie and electronic charm to the stage with a little something for everyone. Case in point: “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” the trio’s moody Bauhaus cover for the Vampire Academy soundtrack.

At the hub of Williamsburg, McCarren Park is a Brooklyn landmark and one of the central meeting points for festival-goers as it doubles as festival HQ for the week. The two free, all ages, 6000-capacity shows held at the corner of Bedford Avenue and N 12th Street are a major highlight of a highlight-packed weekend, so stay tuned to find out what’s in store for Saturday’s show.

Gates will open at 3pm both days (rain or shine) with music kicking off at 4pm. Admission is first-come, first-served with the required RSVP. To be the first to learn when RSVPs open to the general public, sign up here for Northside Media Group’s “Brooklyn Briefly” newsletter. Please note, a RSVP does not ensure admission, so it’d be best to arrive at the show early. Premium and Music badge-holders are guaranteed entry, however. (In other words, if you have a badge, we’ve got you covered. No need to RSVP.) You can buy one of those here. Soon, there will be no more talk of snow. June is just around the corner…
