Taking place within the larger Northside Innovation festival — happening in the heart of North Williamsburg, Brooklyn on June 7-9, 2017, and bringing together a vibrant entrepreneurial community of startup founders, entrepreneurs, designers, journalists, VCs, developers, and more across three days of keynote talks, panels, master classes, immersive VR, and evening parties — Northside is thrilled to welcome The Intercept and BuzzFeed News for an entirely new track of talks taking place during the festival:
Northside Report’s lineup will feature newsmakers and entertainers including The Intercept’s Jeremy Scahill, Betsy Reed, and Mehdi Hasan, BuzzFeed News’ Ben Smith and Shani Hilton, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Huffington Post Editor-in-Chief Lydia Polgreen, Recode Executive Editor Kara Swisher, Co-Founder of People For Bernie and Creator of #FeelTheBern Winnie Wong, First Look Media’s Anna Holmes, Instagram’s Head of Product Kevin Weil, and more.
Programming for the two-day event will range from conversations about Feminism in the Age of Trump to Surveillance, Extremism and Immigration in the Trump Era to The Business of News In the Age of Facebook. There will also be live musical performances, including a performance from Himanshu “Heems” Suri (formerly of Das Racist), live tapings of BuzzFeed News’ See Something, Say Something podcast with host Ahmed Ali Akbar and the Intercepted podcast with host Jeremy Scahill. Programming will be live streamed via Facebook Live.
